Cortijos Los Olivos is a traditional Spanish residence that has been restored, including air conditioning, for rural tourism. It is totally equipped for 6 people and offers two living rooms: one for winter with a fireplace, and one for summer; a fully equipped kitchen, 3 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Strategically placed in Andalusia, being only 15 minutes from Antequera, and set in a spectacular rural spot on the outskirts of the small hamlet of Los Nogales; it stands in a plot of more than 10,000 m2 and is surrounded by olive trees and oak trees dating back hundreds of years. Only authentic traditional materials have been used throughout -such as wooden beams, terracotta floor tiles, wrought iron window grilles and canes for the ceilings -in order to maintain the original style and elegance of the house. A place where ancient traditions of long ago blend harmoniously with the comfort and luxury of modern times.

The 500 courageous cyclists in this arduous race have three days to cover the 250 kilometres between Jacó on the Pacific coast in the west and Playa Bonita at Puerto Limón on the Caribbean in the east. Between the two cities, they must cross the mountain chain that cuts through Costa Rica running north to south. The first stage involves a cumulative climb of 3,400 metres, the second stage 4,200 metres, and the last a mere 150 metres. The competitors (two thirds of whom are Costa Rican, with the rest being French, Australian, Spanish, South African, American, Colombian or Argentine) and their all-terrain bicycles are put to the test, crossing waterways, going over suspension bridges and speeding through paths in the jungle. Cyclists and spectators alike will have tremendous memories of their feats!
